Something Beautiful

I get to sleep in a little tomorrow - so I have some time to do another post. I am going to a district training and dont have to be there until 8:30. I forgot to mention this concert in my previous post, so here goes.

I am a fan of the Newsboys. I think they are a great band and I often get immediately hooked on their songs. My most recent favorite is Something Beautiful. This song resonated with me last winter. The beginning got me about starting over, having a new beginning, etc. I love it!

My brother mentioned that there was a free concert going on last weekend, so of course I was in! I even got Ginger to go (although it didnt take much convincing!) I went down with Ginger, but met up with my brother, his father in law, and my niece.

Anyway - it was such a fun concert!! I still think about it! I dont know how many Christian bands can achieve what they did at their concert. So many people were sooo into their songs. We were on our feet basically the whole time, and sang almost every song. There were 2 I didnt know. :o(

Their stories were great, personal testimonies were inspirational, there was humor and excitement. I am excited about another opportunity to see them - whenever that may be!

Some of the highlights:

* Spending time with Ginger - doesnt seem like we get enough time these days!

* Hanging out with my brother

* Seeing my niece singing these songs and being soooooo excited for Pete and Duncan on his drums!! It was truly a moment to cherish. I saw her excitement and pure joy that came from listening to the Newsboys and singing along. It is something that her and my brother bond over and it was adorable. Very moving. She sat on his shoulders most of the night and it brought tears to my eyes. My brother is a fantastic father and the connection they have over this was fun to see.

* Re-prioritizing. Is that even a word? I know - I'm a teacher, I should know that...anyway - it set things back in motion. Made me think of my priorities and get things straight again. Its so easy to stray sometimes.

* What more needs to be said? I had more fun at this concert than all of the other concerts I've been to?

If you ever have the chance to see the Newsboys - GO! They are fantastic and could easily appeal to all ages.

I still smile thinking about it.

I will try to get a picture or two up shortly.

Good night and God bless!
